Leadership Skills

Think back to the greatest leader you’ve ever had in your work experience. Chances are, the things you liked most about her/him are the people skills – not the job skills. That’s because leadership is people-focused. The best leaders motivate, inspire, and empower those that they lead. Effective leadership means creating enthusiasm for the work and organisation’s mission, vision, values, and goals. Good leaders use emotional intelligence to connect with people and still hold them accountable.

The Improving Communications UK suite of Leadership classes focus on skills to motivate and inspire (Leadership) as well as functional abilities of the organisation (Management). They help to ensure that you balance taking care of people and business.

Leadership & Management Development

an eight-hour learning session for up to 20 delegates

Leadership and ManagementCommunication is the essence of Leadership. This programme focuses on creating a culture of positive interaction, clear and respectful exchanges, all the while keeping high-performance productivity, ownership, and innovation in the forefront.

Before the start of the learning session, delegates complete the TruTalent™ Learning & Productivity (TTL & P), a 20-minute online survey of an individual’s productivity preferences and learning styles. The assessment identifies the individual’s work and learning preferences for 4 styles and 12 environmental and mindset preferences. These elements affect, positively or negatively, how each individual achieves and performs in work-based learning environments. They also affect the way in which individuals concentrate, make decisions, solve problems, process information, approach and complete tasks, retain new and complex information, develop new skills, and interact with others.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Use the TruTalent™ Learning & Productivity assessment to increase productivity and maximise performance;
  • Set meaningful professional goals and celebrate success for incremental progress toward achievement;
  • Inspire innovation with teams to increase ownership and accountability;
  • Empower employees and increase engagement with effective, positive feedback;
  • Focus on positivity, setting an example for others that we are an organisation of “yes” and solutions; and
  • Improve spoken and written communications, creating an authoritative image of expertise.

Maximise Human Capital ROI

a three-hour learning session for up to 20 delegates

Maximize Human CapitalThe TruTalent™ Learning & Productivity Assessment identifies elements that positively or negatively affect how individuals achieve and perform at work. The assessment reveals how people concentrate, make decisions, solve problems, process information, approach and complete tasks, retain new and complex information, develop new skills, and interact with others. BE provides insight into each peron’s unique productivity preferences.

The TTL&P profile is used to develop individualised action plans to improve productivity and performance. This inventory helps leaders and teams to learn and process information, make decisions, assess the environment, and determine sociological needs that lead to the most efficient productivity. By using the BE, leaders and teams become even more accountable and responsible.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Use Productivity Styles to maximise work performance,
  • Discover and capitalise on productivity style diversity  (complementary and opposing), and

Running Effective Meetings

a eight-hour learning session for up to 20 delegates

cover-meetingsAll businesses want greater efficiency. The path to that goal is marked with increasing productivity and reducing wasted time. Only having necessary and brief meetings is a sure way to achieve these goals.

The meetings we hold communicate to attendees that it either is or isn’t an effective use of their time. Leaders set the example of respect for people’s time in an organisation. When we meet, it’s for a good reason. The best meetings are meaningful, accomplish goals, and always respect the audience.

This workshop helps delegates to have a purpose, an organised agenda, an adherence to a schedule, and a defined and useful format leading to productive work sessions.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Develop and articulate a clear purpose for the meeting,
  • Engage attendees into dialogue that is an effective exchange of ideas,
  • Ask appropriate questions to gather critical data for organisational/department improvement, and
  • Minimise disruptive distractions to keep focus and efficiency.

Improving Staff Motivation

a four-hour learning session for up to 20 delegates

What motivates employees? Knowing the answers will help to tap into that “paycheck” for each individual so that they can all help bring the organisation closer to achieving its mission.

This session helps leaders to ask the questions so that they can discover the varied sources of motivation for each individual. Some need flexibility, others prefer having choices, and there are those who seem to be working only to make money.

The effective leader connects tasks and goals to each person’s motivation source. The process involves: effective leaders giving appropriate feedback and coaching, honest and open communication, and praise for meaningful achievement.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Learn ways to discover and use what staff members truly value,
  • Connect employee motivation to tasks and goals at hand so that it will have an impact on performance, and
  • Develop an effective organisation-wide motivation programme.
